I’ve had a passion for baking since I was 9 years old. As a child I spent most of my time in both my Grandmothers’ kitchens. This is where I developed my love for baking.
I am a native of Greenville, SC, a 1987 graduate of Mauldin High School. I attended the Art Institute of Atlanta and received an Associates of Arts Degree in 1990. Then later returned to school and recieved an Associates in Marketing, at Greenville Technical College in 2003.
In 2013 I decided to make a career change from 20 plus years of retail Management into the field of Culinary Arts. I attended The Culinard at Virginia College where I received my Certification in Culinary Arts and her Certification as a Pastry Chef in the Advanced Pastry Program in 2014.
In this short period of time I was recommended by my Church's Culinary Director to the Youth Director to share my skills with the Youth at my Church and teach them basics culinary skills. I am now the the Youth Cooking Club Instructor at Long Branch Baptist Church. Through this Ministry I am creating a strong mentorship process with the children ages 7-18. They are taught how to minister from the kitchen, by creating meals and desserts that are healthy and that will nourish their body for life. They are also taught proper food safety and Sanitation.
Working with the Youth has been such an inspiration that I decided to teach other youth by partnering with Daycares and other Youth programs. This became the birth of "Lil T-SPOONS " Youth Cooking Classes, a division of LTS Catering Lick Tha Spoon, LLC
Lil T-SPOONS Cooking Classes, teach youth about Sensory Science and how the senses are connected with cooking and baking.
Lil T-SPOONS Cooking Classes work with Preschoolers, After-schoolers, Summer camps and any Youth program teaching them easy no-bake,fun recipes they can share later at home.
"Lil T-SPOONS In Motion" from the Minds In Motion Learning Center was the first class developed from the Cooking Class.
